Nutella Fudge

Individually, fudge and nutella are amazing. So what happens when you combine these two already awesome things?? SOMETHING INCREDIBLE. When I came across this recipe, my mind was blown. How had this idea never crossed my mind? It is seriously such a great idea. And as an added bonus, it’s super easy to make! It is literally a perfect recipe for this week, considering we’re issuing at the end of the week….

I gathered my ingredients and got started:

  • ½ cup salted butter
  • ½ cup whole milk or half and half
  • 1½ cups light brown sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup toasted hazelnuts (optional, for garnish)

Of course I doubled the recipe…we have a big team and a LOT of client contacts to keep happy 🙂 The first thing I did was pour the powdered sugar into a large mixing bowl, and set it aside. Next I melted my butter in a pot on medium low, and added the brown sugar and milk. I then brought the mixture to boil for about two minutes, stirring the entire time.

Once the ingredients were incorporated and the sugar had dissolved, I added the nutella and vanilla, and stirred until the Nutella had melted in. Then it was time to pour the Nutella butter mixture into the bowl with the powdered sugar, and stir it until it had a smooth texture. I got a few clumps of powdered sugar, so I used a spatula to flatten out any sugar lumps. The last steps were to pour the mixture into two lined pans, sprinkle some toasted hazelnuts on top, and pop them in the fridge.

I’m going to be honest…I did lick the bowl clean. And my roommate and I definitely taste tested more than our fair share of fudge once it had set. Some things in life are just worth indulging in, and this is DEFINITELY one of them 😀
